We are located on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee people and we are grateful for all the Indigenous people who continue to care for, and remain interconnected with this land.

What is a Period PopUp?

A Period PopUp is a community-filled pantry of menstrual products.

Who can use the pantries?

The products in our pantries are available for anyone who needs them. #EveryBodyPeriod

How are the pantries filled?

The items in the pantries have been supplied by members of our local community. Once established, it's our hope that local residents and businesses will provide ongoing sponsorship of a certain number of users, or by month. Learn how you can help →

Where are the pantries located?

The first Period Pop Up is located at Why Not Youth Centre on Colborne Street in Brantford.

We have partnerd with other community pantries to provide micro-popups in additional location.

How you can help

Financial Support

You can also support our fundraising campaign at Gofundme, or purchase product directly from our Amazon Wishlist.

When we receive funds directly we’re able to buy the items that are most needed in the community at that particular moment - whether that be a specific type of in-demand menstrual product, signage to help us spread the word, or even a new pantry.

Mission Statement

Providing access to menstrual products to those who face challenges in attaining them.

Background

Inspired by the concept of community fridges or book exchanges - both of which gained traction during the pandemic - two McMaster students launched Period PopUps at two locations in Hamilton in early 2021, with the help from the TakingITGlobal's RisingYouth grant.

Brantford joins a number of other period pantries being launched and stewarded by caring community members across Ontario and Canada to support menstruators.
